In the podcast “Habitat”, the narrator took an approach that helped to visualize exactly what was occurring word for word, without any form of imagery. She uses descriptive and intriguing diction and alterations in her voices to spike the interest of others without boring the audience to a monotone voice. The sounds of the water and the surrounding nature and simple actions committed by the crew members, all help to make the narrative of this podcast more interesting. This has helped me with strategizing my own work by inspiring me to include descriptions of the person who is speaking, so the reader can get a good visualization of their character. I plan on including direct dialogue to get a full feel for the interview and the narrative context involved, without making my paper feel too “essay” like or too structured like an average “research” paper. I want my reader to feel the personal connection I have with my interviewee and to refrain from the interview seeming fake or forced unnaturally. By including every detail of my experience with my person I’m interviewing, I’ll be able to lengthen my word count in an effective way that will help strengthen the meaning of my paper entirely. Within my paper, I’ll include a narrative about the ways in which I was drawn to my person of interest for my interview and the ways they will help me learn more about my desired community, as well as making me feel included and apart of the Vegan community.
